Food Should Taste Good...duh!

Review time! Yay! I guess... As much as I love to share my opinion about things, doing a formal review scares me a bit. It requires deep meditative thinking about textures and flavors. Not a problem. It requires you to eat. Obviously, not a problem. It requires you to express your adoration concisely. Again, not a problem. SO, what's the problem? Sometimes I really dislike a product and I feel bad expressing my disdain for something in such a public way. There's a big difference between telling my mum I don't like something and putting it on here for the world to see. And I feel that it being untruthful if I sugarcoat it. So know that I will not be sugar coating anything, but I will try to be descriptive in what I didn't like. I realize  that what I dislike about a certain food might be just what someone else likes about it. Without further ado... Here is your review! First things first... How much do you love the name of this company?  Cute rig...

When life Gives You Stale Chips.....

I just noticed that a lot of the food Ive been drooling over lately has been rather lack-luster in the color department. Case in point: Quinoa Apple Sauce: There's no recipe because I invented this out of desperation.  White bean "Pesto" soup: This was going to be a dip, but my chips were stale so it became a delicious soup. White Bean and Cabbage Scramble with a Masala Dosa: So flavorful and filling. Popcorn(my ex is back!): who needs store bought microwave popcorn? not me! Hello handsome! Healthy sprinkle of cayenne pepper and spanish sea salt Shoes: So I didnt eat these but my new shoes happen to be neutral colored too  Mai Fun ( rice flour cappellini) with homemade Tomato Spinach Sauce: I ate this for 3 meals in a row. So tasty!  But not everything was neutrally colored. My dear friend and one of my Pioneer partners went to Edible Arrangements for a fruit salad and I happened to not be penny-less so I w...

I had one at work and ate the other 3 when I got home. These were seriously yum. I have to go buy some before Joe stops selling them ( I love you Joe, but you are kind of fickle sometimes..I still havent gotten over the Wonton Chips Incident) Friday evening I went to the Tasting event at Whole Foods. No pics cuz too busy stuffing my face with free samples of cranberry orange relish, tofurkey and stuffing, quinoa wild rice pecan stuffing, and roasted seasonal vegatables. jewelry for sale Saturday: lovely morning of service, then to the craft show and directly on to the "Spiritual Goals" program where I was interviewed and "sang" a Kingdom song in sign language   cards for sale awesome tower on fall drive Sunday: Woke up to study Watchtower. Beat Stress with a yogurt covered Stick!

An important thing to keep in mind when you are trying to eat healthfully or lose weight is that stress plays a major role in how quickly you can acheive your goal. When under stress the body creates this gnarly substance called cortisol, which does all kinds of terrible things to your body like suppresing your immune system and trapping fat cells. (Ask Mr. Google if you dare!) To counteract the effects of Cortisol on your immune system you can adjust your diet to include antioxidant rich fruits and veggies (think brightly colored ones in the orange red and citrus families like oranges and pomegranates). Stress tends to make us want to rush through things, so slow down if you feel yourself rushing and take a few deep breaths. Especially when eating! Chew your food fully! Your stomach will thank you. Chewing your food until its mush aids in the digestive process. Do you ever feel excessively sluggish after eating? If you didnt fully chew your food your digestive system is stealing your ...

Food Crush...

Have you ever been obsesssed with a particular food? Remember the kale and golden beet salad I had yesterday? It was so delicious! It had a very light creaminess to it that came from the addition of TAHINI to the recipe. I started eating it and noticed the creaminess and half expected to find something gnarly (dairy and my stomach have been enemies ever since I stopped eating red meat) when i checked the ingredients, but lo and behold it was my old friend Tahini. I have always had an unnatural affection for sesame seeds. Like eating them out of the jar, asking people for a few off of their bagel, eating a sesame bagel almost every morning for a year, buying a jar of sesame oil and then hoarding it until it expired type of affection. And don't get me started on sesame bars, which are basically just honey, sesame seeds and corn syrup cooked down into a taffy of delicious tooth killing yumminess! Whew! I need a cold shower! Well, fast forward a little over a decade to when I was intro...
