Okay...yes...Im back. I was in Italy and then I had severe jet lag. You would not want to read "I hate it here and want to go back to Italy" every day so be happy I wasnt posting with jet lag.

"Who ordered the pancakes with a side of 'augh!'?"

And by good stuff I mean complaining about what is going on outside my window and in my house. Namely: snow. Well, I mean the snow is outside but the cold from the snow is inside and that is only partially my fault because I haven't closed the storm windows yet. (Does everyone out there know what storm windows are? Or is that a East Coast thing? I never really know since there is still a tragic war going on between the East and the West.

You didn't know about it? You are so sheltered. And if you don't believe me you can read all about it in the fashion mags. The most recent skirmish involved a "blowout" although I think it might have been a misprint and they really meant something was blowing up. Anyway, the article went on to discuss how this mysterious explosion thinga ma jigger causes east coast women's hair to go straight and west coast women mostly straight but with some curl to add body. Sounds like chemical warfare, but the article said it involved a heat releasing weapon. Scary, no?

What to do about the snow???

Well, close the windows for one. And make pancakes for the other.

My first thought involved a blow dryer, but that is really mean. AND the snow is very pretty. Large fluffy flakes of cuteness (from the Greek word hi'pot'mos' also translated 'disaster')! Awww..so precious (from the Greek pi'mon'us' also translate dastardly)!

Spelt pancakes for one (recipe courtesy "Oh She Glows")? Check!
Almond cashew cream (recipe courtesy my imagination)? Check!
Drizzle of honey (recipe courtesy the Almighty God who created the bees)? Check!

I received a reviewers box of goodies from the Brad's Raw people last Monday and I really couldn't wait to share it with you.  However, when they said they were sending a sampler I was expecting tiny sample-sized packets, but this is what I got: And since I'm working on not being a greedy gus, I didn't immediately rip into all the packages and devour them. In my attempts to reduce my stress load I have rediscovered one of my favorite de-stressors: relaxing with a hot cup of tea. Ive read wonderful things about the relaxing benefits of Earl Grey tea spiked with Bergamot. I have to admit I'm a bit of a tea snob. I like to be able to see the composition of the tea in the bag. I find it thrilling to look in the tea bag and see bits of dried orange and lemongrass. This, of course, can do terrible things to ones wallet. So, in the interest of pinching pennies (sounds gruesome for those poor pennies) I considered the lower costing teas. To be perfectly honest I was not hopeful when I selected this tea. But for a change the tea that cost the least ($2.99) was surprisingly good (Mind you i was shopping at Whole Foods and its pretty hard to buy an awful product there). Do you ever Treat Yourself?

Of course I do! But after eating whole foods for so long, my treats tend to be "real food". A treat for me is a trip to Chipotle, Whole Foods prepared foods section, or just cooking something I can't afford regularly (i.e. something with artichokes, avocado, etc.). But that is not to say I don't have non- whole food treats. But feel free to laugh at my list of "naughty" treats. It is kind of annoying when I say I have a craving and my friends laugh because my cravings are relatively "healthy". Anyway, here is a sampling of what I've been indulging in this summer. So Delicious Coconut milk ice cream in Cherry Amaretto with a dollop of Coconut Butter Tortilla chips topped with nooch cheese and tomato sauce Sweet potato fries with peanut butter and coconut butter Soft Pretzel at the Pittsburgh Pirates game Pirates won!
